AMBA is about changing paradigms and mindsets in regard to Adults with Developmental Delays! AMBA challenges one’s pre-conceived notions about this section of persons with Intellectual Disabilities and gives one a glimpse into infinite possibilities for them…with a Focus on Rural India!
AMBA’S MISSION
Despite the recent Pandemic, remains unchanged…to build, operate and sustain training/employment operations within 523 ACPCs (AMBA certified partner centres What is an ACPC?) to enable financial and operational sustainability, while continuing to Scale!
AMBA during the Pandemic enabled work from Home leveraging the invaluable support from the Mothers from the community AMBA serves.
AMBA has to date revived 202 ACPCs from across 15 states in India.

What is an AMBA Certified Partner Centre?
Partnership with Organisations
AMBA partners with organisations who are in the space of rehabilitation, early intervention, and education of persons with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
The Problem Statement
The problem statement with these organisations is their lack of expertise/focus in providing employment opportunities for their beneficiaries. Additionally, increased behavior challenges during puberty force the organisation to send them home. The organisations feel their efforts over the years are in vain as:
- The individual, even though they have gone through years of rehabilitation, regresses back to where they started in a short period of three months.
- They are considered a huge burden on the family, and the stigma attached to them further adds to the disruption within the family. This also increases the drain of resources as one parent now has to stay home to manage the individual.
AMBA's Standard Model
AMBA over the years has built a standard model of generating an asset within the Special Institution, in collaboration and partnership, to enable an AMBA Certified Partner Centre (ACPCS) which takes them in continuity into Livelihoods.
1. Training and Development
AMBA’s training develops and improves behavior challenges and individuals’ holistic daily living capability.
2. Phases of Learning
Initiates different phases of learning, peer-driven, to enable functional usage of the computer.
3. Simulated Circumstances
They thereafter take them into simulated circumstances to maximize efficiency in doing varied backend work, across genres of clientele.
4. Utilizing Existing Collaterals
AMBA uses existing collaterals available with the partner like space, furniture, administration, trainers, and adult beneficiaries to start the process of generating ACPCs. Using existing collaterals keeps operational and overhead costs to a minimum. They then partner with the CSR of organisations to bring in the assets required to fully generate a functional ACPC.
5. Monitoring and Excellence
AMBA uses ICT to monitor excellence within the ACPCs.
6. Business Development
AMBA’s role exceeds the period of training into developing business appropriate to the training.
7. Economic Impact
On starting work, the ACPC now makes an economic impact for the individuals and, over time, financial sustainability for running the ACPCs.

AMBA and the CSR’s engagement with these partner organisations is limited to adults seeking employment opportunities and registered within the ACPC.
AMBA invests 2-3 years in taking ACPC to run activity independently. Thereafter, AMBA exits the partnership while remaining a knowledge partner in continuity.

AMBA and the CSR’s engagement with the ACPCs is limited to Adults seeking employment opportunities and registered within the ACPC.
AMBA invests 2–3 years in taking ACPC to run activity independently. Thereafter, AMBA exits partnership while remaining knowledge partner in continuity.
AMBA has shared the Copyrighted Curriculum across India which enables Functional Computing leading to Backend processes within varied genres to include presently data processing, AI & ML and Camera Based AI with over 523+ ACPCs. 80% in Rural India; 40+% are now Women.
The AMBA Core Centre — The Hub
The AMBA Core Centre (ACC) is the hub from which AMBA researched, developed and evolved the AMBA Concept and Copyrighted Curriculum.
Using technology, pattern management and visual processes, together with a unique peer-training and supervision model, AMBA enables adults with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities to develop Functional Computing skills.
These skills open a whole new world of possibilities — leading to meaningful work, income, greater independence and self-sustenance.

What is an AMBA Certified Partner Centre?
AMBA partners with organisations already engaged in the rehabilitation, early intervention and education of persons with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Many such organisations have invested years in developing the abilities of their beneficiaries but lack the expertise, resources or business networks required to take them forward into sustainable employment and livelihoods.
As these young people enter adulthood, behavioural challenges can also increase. Without continuing engagement and meaningful work, many are compelled to remain at home.
The consequences can be significant. Skills developed over years of rehabilitation and training may gradually be lost. The individual becomes increasingly dependent on the family, while one parent or caregiver may have to remain at home to provide full-time support.
AMBA addresses this critical gap by creating an employment and livelihood capability within the existing Special Institution.
Through collaboration and partnership, the institution develops into an AMBA Certified Partner Centre (ACPC) — enabling adults to move in continuity from training into meaningful livelihoods.
Building Sustainable ACPCs
AMBA has evolved a standardised and scalable model that makes maximum use of resources already available within the partner organisation — including space, furniture, administration, trainers and adult beneficiaries.
This keeps operational and overhead costs to a minimum.
The AMBA Core Centre, where required, works with CSR partners to bring in the additional assets needed to establish a fully functional ACPC.
Increasingly, AMBA is also training ACPCs to develop business opportunities within their own communities, neighbourhoods and networks. This enables Centres to build local business relationships and move progressively towards long-term financial sustainability and independence.

Adults are trained through simulated work environments before moving to live assignments, building accuracy, efficiency and the ability to undertake varied backend processes across different sectors.
4. Building on existing resources
AMBA works with the infrastructure and human resources already available within each partner organisation, making the ACPC model cost-effective and scalable.
5. Monitoring quality across geographies
AMBA uses ICT-enabled systems to monitor processes, quality and excellence across ACPCs in different parts of India.
6. From training to business development
AMBA's role extends beyond training. The AMBA Core Centre supports ACPCs in identifying and developing business opportunities appropriate to their training and capabilities.
7. Creating economic impact and sustainability
Once live work begins, the ACPC creates economic opportunities for its adult beneficiaries while progressively developing the financial sustainability required to operate independently.

AMBA typically invests two to three years in developing an ACPC's capabilities and supporting it towards independent operations.
